Legendary fashion photographer Francesco Scavullo has admitted that he's battled bipolar disorder all his life. "I had a nervous breakdown, and, 10 years later when it happened again, I went to a clinic and they decided to give me Haldol. It was an incredible drug, and I took it every time I got manic."

Andre Leon Talley will emcee a fashion gala at the National Arts Club on Gramercy Park on Nov. 10 for Community Access, which houses and serves New Yorkers with psychiatric disabilities.
"Being a manic-depressive," Scavullo concludes, "has been good for my career. I always had lots of ideas when I was manic."
